CKE Restaurants, parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, has announced that it has committed to gestation crate-free pork supplies by 2022.
According to FeedStuffs.com, the company said it supports the humane treatment of animals and has asked its pork suppliers to find "practical and sustainable" alternatives to gestation crates. The commitment covers CKE's more than 3,000 Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants worldwide.
CKE joins a growing list of other quick-service chains making this same pledge, including McDonald's, Sonic, Tim Hortons, Wendy's and Burger King.
