Cold Stone Creamery opens flagship store In Dhaka, Bangladesh

Cold Stone Creamery, along with parent company Kahala Brands and Master Franchisee, Olive Tree Foods Limited, opened a flagship store location in the Gulshan-1 neighborhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh, according to a company press release.

The grand opening celebrations kicked off with a private event held on Feb. 12 that included a ribbon cutting ceremony with special guests: David Meale, the U.S. Embassy Bangladesh's deputy chief of mission; Eddy Jimenez, senior vice president of International Operations & Development of Kahala Brands/Cold Stone Creamery; Ehsanul Habib, chairman of Olive Tree Foods Limited; and Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, managing director of Olive Tree Foods Limited.

"We believe this is the beginning of a very successful relationship between Olive Tree Foods Limited and Kahala Brands and soon we will expand throughout the country with our brand's presence," Ahmed said. "This is a proud day for Olive Tree Foods Limited to launch the flagship store of this incredibly exciting and fun brand in Bangladesh. With Cold Stone Creamery, we hope to satisfy the local need for freshly made, super-premium ice cream Creations, combined with the unique entertainment Experience Factor."

The celebrations continued with dance performances by Cold Stone Creamery crew members, a catwalk ice cream fashion show,and musical performances. The ice cream fashion show debuted models walking the runway presenting Cold Stone Creamery's Signature Creations, which are made with popular flavors and mix-ins.

The store opened to the public on Feb. 13, with some Dhaka customers trying Cold Stone Creamery for the very first time.

"We are so excited to deliver 'The Ultimate Ice Cream Experience' to all of the ice cream lovers of Bangladesh," Jimenez said. "It was fun to observe which flavor profile and Creations were ordered most that day! Both the Chocolate Devotion Creation and Founders Favorite Creation were big hits with customers. It's such an honor and a privilege to team up with Olive Tree Foods Limited. Their dedication and commitment to bring inspiring experiences to their customers make this relationship the perfect fit for the Cold Stone Creamery brand and we are honored to work together."

OTFL has plans to grow the Cold Stone Creamery brand over the next five years by opening multiple locations in and around Dhaka, the release stated.

"We believe Cold Stone Creamery could be the catalyst for creating a new dimension in the food and beverage industry of Bangladesh by introducing the 'fun factor,' in addition to serving a very high-quality product," Ahmed said.
