Taco Bell's 220 California units will likely have to undergo improvements after a federal judge ruled the chain violated federal and California laws protecting the disabled from discrimination.
According to the Associated Press, U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton, based in Oakland, Calif., ruled last week that a San Pablo, Calif., store failed to provide adequate handicap parking, wheelchair access and other accommodations for the disabled.
The ruling stems from a class action lawsuit that was filed in late 2002.
