Crawfish fever swims into Popeyes

October 25, 2010

From now until Nov. 28, crawfish lovers can try new limited-time menu items and take part in a crawfish sampling day in celebration of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen's 2nd Annual Crawfish Festival.

National Crawfish Sampling Day is Nov. 3. Popeyes' cajun crawfish is coated with a seasoned batter and then fried with special seasonings and served with a special horseradish sauce.

Some of the limited-time menu items include:

  • The Crawfish Tackle box, filled with Popeyes crawfish and served with a regular side and a biscuit. The Crawfish Tackle box is offered as a meal or combo.
  • Crawfish Po'Boy is a Popeyes traditional favorite piled on top of a warm baguette with lettuce, pickles and creamy horseradish sauce.
  • Etouffee is a traditional Louisiana "one pot" dish featuring seasoned rice with a rich sauce of crawfish, veggies and spices. Etouffee is offered alone as a 16-ounce Big Easy Bowl, or as a regular side.

"Our customers love being able to get high-quality seafood with our much-loved flavor at an affordable price," said Dick Lynch, CMO for Popeyes. "We are passionate and unabashedly enthusiastic about our one-of-a-kind seafood offers."
