Dear Nashvillians: Church’s Chicken is sorry

March 3, 2011

Atlanta-based Church’s Chicken has offered the people of Nashville, Tenn., an apology for “not delivering on a promise of exceptional customer service and hospitality.”

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the chain opened 23 units in the Music City in 2009 after converting Mrs. Winner’s stores.

The company believes it has let Nashville down by falling short of expectations and will therefore close all of the city’s locations for 18 hours this weekend so employees can participate in a customer service training boot camp. The Church’s Chicken units will reopen Monday at 4 p.m.

Additionally, the chain will run TV and radio spots featuring John Bowie, Church’s president of U.S. operations, apologizing. It also will launch “Nashville Dollar Days,” featuring one item per day for $1.

Nashville remains a market of focus for growth as Church’s Chicken expands its footprint.
