Dunkin' Donuts has officially kicked off its 2011-12 KidZone and Dugout programs, which offer special seating sections for children from charitable organizations at hundreds of Boston Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox and New England Revolution home games.
The Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Brands began the program more than 10 years ago.
Applications are now being accepted for upcoming Bruins and Celtics home games.
Non-profit organizations in the Greater Boston, Worcester, Cape Cod and Southern New Hampshire areas are encouraged to email DDKidZone@rfbinder.com to learn more about the application process. The deadline is Oct. 14.
To celebrate the launch of the 2011-12 program, Tyler Seguin of the Boston Bruins visited the Leahy-Holloran Community Center in Dorchester, Mass. on Sept. 13 and surprised children with 20 tickets to the Oct. 6 Bruins home opener.
"The Dunkin' Donuts KidZone and Dugout programs are part of our broader community outreach initiative that aims to provide amazing experiences for children in the area," said Michael Mahon, Manager of Field Marketing for Dunkin' Donuts in Boston. "Tyler Seguin and the Boston Bruins are hometown heroes and we couldn't think of a better way to kick off our upcoming KidZone and Dugout season than surprising a group with Bruins tickets."
