Dunkin' Donuts now searchable through GPS device

February 22, 2006

CONCORD, Mass.—Motorists can now tap their TomTom navigation systems and see Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins logos as points of interest (POI) on the 3D map. Patrons of Dunkin' Donuts' coffee and 31 Flavors can navigate to more than 2,700 Baskin-Robbins nationally and 4,400 Dunkin' Donuts outposts in 27 states using any of TomTom's GPS products.

According to a news release, TomTom selects the most interesting, convenient and relevant POI sets by teaming up with reputable content suppliers. All TomTom products come already programmed with millions of POI's including parking, gas stations, hotels and restaurants. TomTom also offers additional, downloadable POI sets, such as Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, to enhance the already robust offering. TomTom's personal navigation systems have optional audio and visual alerts to alert drivers as each POI approaches. To further enrich the navigation experience, drivers can even call POI locations ahead of time to make reservations or ask questions using their GO 700 and compatible Bluetooth cellular phone.
