From now through Nov. 14, Dunkin' Donuts franchisees will donate a one-pound bag of coffee to the USO for every purchase of two one-pound bags from participating restaurants or online (www.dunkindonuts.com).
The chain's goal is to donate up to 100,000 pounds of coffee to USO centers that serve millions of U.S. military troops and their families.
Additionally, the Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation is providing an $82,500 grant to support the USO's mission, which is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to troops and their families.
Since 2003, Dunkin' Donuts has donated more than 150,000 pounds of coffee to troops deployed overseas. The chain sponsors a monthly lottery to randomly select 50 U.S. military members to receive one case of coffee.
"Dunkin' Donuts has a long history of honoring America's servicemen and women, and we are proud to continue our tradition of supporting the troops through our new partnership with the USO," said John Costello, chief global customer and marketing officer at Dunkin' Brands.
Dunkin' Donuts' efforts in honoring U.S. military members also includes offering discounts to Veterans Advantage members and franchise rebates for veterans.
The USO operates approximately 90 centers throughout the U.S., providing programs and services for servicemen and women and their families. For more information about this campaign, visit www.dunkindonuts.com/troops.
