Dunkin' Donuts ready to introduce gluten-free pastries systemwide

June 20, 2013

In what Bloomberg is calling a "fast food first," Dunkin' Donuts is ready to roll out gluten-free doughnuts and muffins across the U.S. system later this year.

The offerings will include gluten-free cinnamon-sugar doughnuts and blueberry muffins. Dunkin' Brands' executive chef Stan Frankenthaler said the company recognizes "the importance of providing many options, including alternative choices for people with food and dietary restrictions."

The gluten-free options will be packaged separately for safety.

Dunkin' Donuts has been testing the pastries in Massachusetts and is "pleased with the results."
