Dunkin' Donuts says, 'Hello, Alexa'

August 30, 2018

Dunkin' Donuts is getting chummy with Alexa, announcing this week that its On-the-Go Mobile Ordering is now available through Amazon's cloud-based voice service, a news release said. That means the chain's customers can now place their orders on Alexa-enabled devices and go directly to the pic-kup area to retrieve them.

Customers can also link heir DD Perks and Amazon accounts in the Alexa app, allowing all ordering and payments to take place in Dunkin's mobile platform, making it easier to re-order.

The Dunkin' Donuts Ordering skill for Alexa joins the Dunkin' Donuts Quiz introduced last year. The Dunkin' Donuts Quiz that quizzes users on coffee history and other fun facts, adding that increasingly important experiential and engagement component to the technology.

"Our integration with Amazon Alexa is our latest innovation to better serve members of our DD Perks program, which remains one of the fastest growing loyalty programs in the quick-service restaurant industry, with nearly 8 million members," Dunkin' Donuts U.S. Vice President of Digital and Loyalty Marketing Stephanie Meltzer-Paul, said in the release. "As a brand, we are always looking for ways to fit seamlessly into our guests' daily routines and provide new levels of convenience and speed."

Dunkin' Donuts now tallies up more than 12,600 restaurants in 46 countries worldwide.
