Ecolab, Tennant partner on launch of new scrubber vac system

October 26, 2009

Ecolab Inc. has announced it has entered into an exclusive relationship with Minneapolis, Minn.-based Tennant Co. to launch the new Scrub-N-Go Floor Scrubber Vac System for quick-service restaurants.

The Scrub-N-Go Scrubber Vac System is cordless and uses Ecolab products to dissolve dirt and grease on hard surface tile flooring. The machine dispenses fresh Ecolab cleaning solution continually while its brushes remove embedded grime from floor tile and grout lines. The cleaning solution — along with dissolved soil — is then immediately vacuumed, preventing it from being re-deposited, and leaves the floor nearly dry.

Scrub-N-Go cleans in both directions, has a zero turn-radius for cleaning in tight areas and an adjustable handle to clean under tables and chairs.

"With Ecolab's cleaning expertise within the restaurant industry, and Tennant's ability to design and manufacture high-quality floor maintenance equipment, this partnership has enabled us to address a real need in the industry – to clean floors quickly and safely," said Andy Eckert, vice president for North America at Tennant.

Floors cleaned using Scrub-N-Go are expected to dry faster, which should reduce the risk of slip-and-fall accidents. According to the National Restaurant Association, nearly 3 million employees and 1 million customers are injured in slip-and-fall accidents in restaurants each year, costing businesses an average of $150,000 per incident.
