Jersey Mike's Month of Giving benefits 74 charities

February 23, 2012

Throughout March, Jersey Mike's Subs will host its second annual Month of Giving, a fundraising campaign that will benefit 74 different local children's-based charities this year.

The inaugural Month of Giving campaign in 2011 raised more than $600,000 for 66 charities nationwide and the chain's goal is to raise more for 2012.

During the month of March, customers can make a donation at any Jersey Mike's restaurant. The campaign will culminate in a nationwide event, Jersey Mike's "Make A Difference Day," on March 28.

On that day, in some markets, those making a minimum $2 contribution to the selected local charity will receive a free regular sized sub and, in others, 50 percent of the day's sales will go to the charity.

A list of participating restaurants and coinciding charities is available online.

"Our commitment to the core Jersey Mike's value of giving back to the communities we serve has never been stronger," said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike's founder and CEO. "We know our customers share this passion and, with their help, we hope to make a big difference in the lives of children throughout this country."
