KFC Canada is launching Kwench, a made-to-order beverage brand that marks the company's first expansion outside its core food category in its Canadian history, according to a press release.

The menu features nine drinks across four categories: Krunch Shakes, Sparkling Lemonades, Boba Refreshers and Iced Lattes. The lineup, which starts at $3.50, features ingredients like crunchy cookie crumbs and hibiscus boba pearls.

Canada is the third global market to introduce the Kwench brand nationally, following rollouts in the U.K., Ireland and Australia. The beverages will be available at more than 170 Canadian locations by the end of the summer. Supported by a $30 million investment from KFC Canada and its franchisees, the brand plans to expand to 600 locations by 2027.

The menu addition comes as specialty drinks like shakes and lemonades increasingly drive quick-service restaurant choices, with consumers seeking bold flavors, unique textures and bright colors.

"Kwench represents a significant growth opportunity for KFC Canada as we expand beyond our core food offering and build a dedicated beverage brand at scale," Ryan Koon, president and general manager of KFC Canada, said in the release. "It reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of next gen Canadians, offering trend-led drinks designed to be experienced and shared socially. Just as importantly, Kwench brings a distinct tone and personality to life, one that's confident and full of character."

Kentucky Fried Chicken Canada Company (KFC Canada) is a subsidiary of Yum Brands, Inc. which operates more than 60,000 restaurants in more than 150 countries around the world. KFC Canada has more than 650 locations in Canada.
