Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan Ltd. plans to add more stores -- as many as 100 in three years -- that offer healthier menu items.
According to tradingmarkets.com, the need to revise the company's marketing strategies and add new twists to the menu stems from increased competition in the quick-service chicken segment.
KFC Japan hopes to attract more female customers with the new offerings, which include an expanded salad lineup and roasted chicken.
KFC Japan's first store opened in July in Tokyo. A second store is set to open in December. The company will focus on urban areas to expand the brand.
