Krispy Kreme rolls out seasonal doughnuts

Krispy Kreme has added three festive holiday doughnuts to the menu, including the new Red Velvet Cake, classic Snowman and Chocolate Iced with Holiday Sprinkles. They are available at participating Krispy Kreme U.S. and Canadian shops through Dec. 31.

"The snowman and sprinkle doughnuts celebrate the joy and festiveness of the season," said Ron Rupocinski, Krispy Kreme corporate chef. "And the rich, not-too-sweet taste, moist texture of red velvet cake is captured in our new one-of-a-kind Red Velvet doughnut."

The Snowman Doughnut is a snowman-shaped doughnut frosted in white icing sporting a red icing scarf. The Chocolate Iced with Holiday Sprinkles is a chocolate-iced doughnut decked in red and green sprinkles. The Red Velvet Doughnut is a cake doughnut topped with cream cheese icing and red velvet cake crumbles.

To celebrate the return of its seasonal line, Krispy Kreme has launched the "Dozen Days of Doughnuts" music video.

The company also has introduced a Dozen Days promotion via Facebook, and a commemorative $5 wall calendar for 2012, filled with $90 worth of coupons for Krispy Kreme treats.

From now through Dec. 23, Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts will be sold in limited edition holiday packaging at participating retail outlets.
