As consumer usage continues to shift to mobile, location-based advertising is becoming one of the fastest growing strategies for restaurants when it comes to digital advertising.

Using real-time location data connects real-world behavior — such as tracking which restaurants consumers visit and how frequently they go — to provide a better understanding of a restaurant operator's wants and needs. By understanding the places consumers go and the large-scale patterns in mobile usage and physical behavior, marketers and advertisers in restaurants can gain a better understanding of their audiences, said Brandon Starkoff, VP of product marketing at xAd, the company sponsoring a webinar focusing on just that.

The one-hour webinar on Thursday at 2 p.m. EST, "Location-based marketing: A guide to strategy, deployment and successful return on investment," will be moderated by Retail Customer Experience, and Starkoff will share insights into consumers' demands and expectations across path to purchase and strategies for how marketers can use location insights to address the change in consumer behavior and influence a person at the moments of greatest intent and receptiveness.
