Long John Silver's has introduced a month-long campaign to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the brand's national charity partner.
Customers who visit any participating Long John Silver's restaurant during the month of October will be encouraged to donate to the cause through in-store signage and social media outreach on Facebook and Twitter.
Those who make a minimum $1 donation on Oct. 14 will receive a free slice of pie, honoring National Dessert Day.
"Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a vital organization, raising funds for children's hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children's health issues," said Mike Kern, CEO of Long John Silver's. "If each Long John Silver's customer donates at least a dollar during October, we can make a big impact in the lives of these children."
In 2012, Long John Silver's raised more than $323,000 for CMNH. The company has set a goal of $500,000 this year to benefit the 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
