Major QSR franchisee ups its ante in Popeyes

GPS Hospitality is adding 11 Popeyes restaurants in its home state of Georgia, according to a press release.

The acquisition marks the company's largest Popeyes deal since a little more than one year ago when the company announced its expansion with the chicken QSR. This acquisition bring the total number of GPS Popeyes in Georgia and West Virginia to 19.

GPS Hospitality also invests in other brands and in just under five years has grown to operate nearly 400 restaurants and employ more than 10,000 employees nationwide. The company said it manages franchises by focusing on goals and talent. In fact, it has received recognition for its practices, including a nomination by the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth as one of Georgia's fastest growing last year.
