McDonald's: All US stores serving fresh beef Quarter Pounders

May 8, 2018

As of today, McDonald's customers in the U.S. are now getting only fresh, not frozen, beef in Quarter Pounders, according to a company spokeswoman. Each burger is cooked to order and includse all beef and no fillers, additives or preservatives.

"Over the past two years, we've made a series of bold, tangible changes for our customers," McDonald's President and CEO Steve Easterbrook said in a media release. "Serving All-Day Breakfast, moving to cage-free eggs and testing delivery are all proof of our commitment to build a better McDonald's."

McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski said the company has quickened it the rate of change since 2016, to get food sourcing and service up to speed with current market customer demands.

"Delivering fresh beef that's prepared when our customers order their food is just another example of how we are raising the bar," Kempczinski said. "We're just getting started, and can't wait to show you what's next."

Quarter Pounder burgers using fresh beef, cooked when ordered, were initially tested in 325 restaurants across the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, and 77 restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Quarter Pounder burgers include the Quarter Pounder, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese Deluxe and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers.
