McDonald's bringing winter to warm-weather city

November 13, 2013

To celebrate the start of the holiday season and McCafe's new White Chocolate Mocha, McDonald's is hosting a "Winter Wonderland Contest," to bring residents of a sunny city, such as Los Angeles, snow.

The winning city will get snowflakes, snowmen, seasonal giveaways and samples of the new mocha flavor.

To win the celebration, residents should tweet their city using the hashtag "MomentsofWonder." Besides Los Angeles, other cities in the running include San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Texas, New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta and Tampa, Fla. The city that receives the most votes between now and Nov. 22 will win a winter wonderland experience in mid-December. The winning city will be revealed by @McCafe in early December.

"We are excited to be a part of the McCafe' contest and potentially bring a new experience, and our new winter beverages, to local customers," said Clay Paschen III, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California. "We hope fans and residents will join the fun and cast their vote for Los Angeles on Twitter to win the winter wonderland we miss in Southern California."

The new McCafe White Chocolate Mocha includes 100-percent espresso from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and white chocolate flavor, and will be available in restaurants mid-November until March 2014.
