McDonald's distributor opens new facility to meet Midwest demand

August 16, 2013

Golden State Foods (GSF), a worldwide distributor and food processor, officially opened its doors at its new distribution facility in Whitewater, Wis., Thursday. The facility broke ground on a facility expansion in August 2012, and now totals 92,610 square feet. The facility serves more than 385 McDonald's restaurants in four states throughout the Midwest.

"Our newly-expanded facility in Whitewater will allow us to continue to provide the highest quality service possible to our McDonald's customer," said Paul Sestak, group vice president and general manager, Whitewater, GSF. "We are grateful for all those involved in the planning and building process for the new facility and are committed to offering superior quality and innovation moving forward."

The facility facilitates sustainable initiatives, employs state-of-the-art technology, and allows for increased contingency and long-term capacity.

Golden State Foods acquired distribution centers in Whitewater and Lemont, Ill., in 2006, from Perlman-Rocque, formerly a McDonald's distribution supplier.
