Bundled meals, common at pizza and chicken concepts, may finally be trickling into the burger space. McDonald's is reportedly testing a "multiperson boxed meal" in the Kansas City, Mo., market. According to Burger Business, the meal, called the Blitz Box, was introduced to coincide with the start of the NFL season and features a Kansas City Chiefs' design.
The box includes two Quarter Pounders with cheese, two medium fries and a 20-piece serving of Chicken McNuggets. It is priced at $14.99.
A company spokesperson told Burger Business that the promotion is local only. The boxed meal idea originated at the chain in 2010 in Australia.
