NCR mobile POS adds remote pay, order ahead with Apple Pay support

The NCR Silver mobile point-of-sale system for small businesses is now offering remote payment and order ahead capabilities that are compatible with Apple Pay.

These capabilities will be offered for free to merchants until Jan. 1. Users of the NCR Silver system will also have the option to integrate customer loyalty so it works seamlessly with order and pay ahead features, according to a news release.

For consumers to order and pay ahead, they will need an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. The app powering this, Silver Sidewalk, will be coming to the App Store soon.

"Supporting Apple Pay to deliver order ahead functionality is another way that NCR, with the Silver system, continues to be a true partner to small businesses," Justin Hotard, president, NCR Small Business, said in the release. "In this case, we are enabling small businesses to use technology in ways that change the way they interact and connect with customers. In the coming months, more consumers will want to pay with an iPhone, and we are helping our merchants support this demand."
