Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has opened its first restaurant in Smyrna, Ga. The new unit is operated by National Restaurant Development Inc., owned by Aziz Hashim.
This is National Restaurant Developments’ tenth Atlanta area Popeyes. The opening was marked with free samples, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and appearances by Smyrna Mayor Max A. Bacon, Councilman Michael McNabb, Popeyes CEO Cheryl Bachelder and Hashim.
“Since breaking ground on Oct. 5, 2009, we have been working toward this moment. We’ve hired over 60 Smyrna area residents to work in the restaurant and are so proud to serve our guests. I am so proud to be a part of the Popeyes brand, and to be a part of this community,” Hashim said.
