Oct. 14, 2014

Global Franchise Group, the franchisor of Pretzelmaker, has announced the opening of its first two stores in Russia — in the cities of Perm and Kirov.

Through an agreement with Russian quick-service brand operator Alendvic, Pretzelmaker is now operating in the food court at Perm's Stolica Mall, and in the Jam Mall in Kirov.

"We see enormous potential in the Russian restaurant market, and Aldenvic has a proven track record of managing successful international dining concepts," said Chris Dull, president and CEO of GFG, in the announcement. "Pretzels are a snack that appeals to people across the globe, and the opening of our new Pretzelmaker locations in Russia are the start of something big for us."

Alendvic has 87 outlets and eight brands in its portfolio, and is the top fast food chain in the Volga federal district of Russia, according to the announcement from GFG. The company has long-term relationships and international franchising agreements with Baskin-Robbins and Southern Fried Chicken brands, as well as the Russian brand Shokoladinca.
