About a week after a KFC, Hardee's and Krispy Kreme units were torched amid protests in Lebanon, parent company Yum! Brands has announced it is closing all of its KFC franchises in Pakistan.
According to CNN.com, Yum! spokesperson Christopher Fuller said the closures are a precautionary measure, and the company will monitor the situation before deciding when to ropen.
KFC has more than 60 restaurants in 21 Pakistani cities.
AntiAmerican sentiment continues to fuel protests in some Middle Eastern countries following the release of the controversial film "The Innocence of Muslims." The protests followed an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
