Checkers & Rally's has opened its first ghost kitchen in San Francisco at Mid-Market Eats, expanding the burger brand's use of nontraditional restaurant formats, the company has announced in a news release.
Veteran franchisee Parminder Chahal is leading the location with business partner Asmuddin Syed. Chahal operates 10 Rally's locations and has more than two decades of restaurant industry experience. The partners plan to continue expanding the brand across Northern California.
The ghost kitchen will allow customers to order Checkers & Rally's menu items for delivery without the footprint of a traditional restaurant. The company said the model is designed to increase access in high-demand markets while supporting more efficient, scalable growth.
"Opening the first ghost kitchen in San Francisco is a testament to the brand's dedication to innovation and expanding into non-traditional spaces," Peter Busse, chief development officer at Checkers & Rally's, said in the press release. "We're honored to work with Parminder to lead this initiative as we're confident that he will deliver the brand's passion of bold flavor and exceptional value."
Checkers & Rally's is also targeting franchise growth in markets including Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Las Vegas, Florida and South Carolina
