Rita's promotion kicks off summer

Rita's Italian Ice will kick off summer with its second annual First Day of Summer promotion June 21, featuring discounts on two of its most popular offerings.

All day June 21, Rita's will scoop regular sizes of Italian Ice for $2, or guests can enjoy a regular size signature Gelati, a layering of Italian Ice and Frozen Custard, for $3.

Guests are encouraged to enter Rita's Summer of Fun Photo Contest for prizes, as well. The contest will be featured on Instagram from June 21 through July 8 using the hashtag #RitasSummerofFun.

Winners of the photo contest will be chosen on creativity and originality and will be notified following the contest. The grand prize winner will receive Free Rita's Ice for a Year, with five runners up receiving a $25 voucher for Printstagr.am.

"Summer time is Rita's time and what better way to kick off the summer than with Rita's," said Laura Lazar, senior vice president of Marketing, Rita's.

New Frozen Custard Cakes and Custard Cookie Sandwiches are also available at Rita's this summer.
