BrandSource has been honored as the 2011 recipient of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Stewardship Award, which recognizes corporations that have exceeded expectations in helping the charity offer programs that directly improve the health of children.
The award was presented last week at the 2011 RMHC International Conference before nearly 1,000 attendees from 26 countries and regions. Previous recipients of the RMHC Stewardship Award include The Coca-Cola Company, McDonald's Corporation and Southwest Airlines.
Every two years, RMHC selects a key corporate donor for engaging with the charity and its local chapters. Corporate donors are chosen for various efforts, from providing monetary contributions and in-kind donations to encouraging employees to volunteer.
BrandSource, a California-based merchandising group, has been working with Ronald McDonald House programs for eight years.
When a Ronald McDonald House needs appliances or electronics, BrandSource works with suppliers to fulfill requests for products that are needed.
"Our success is directly attributable to the people of the communities that support our business," said Bob Lawrence, CEO of BrandSource. "When families face medical challenges involving their children that may require them to stay at a Ronald McDonald House, we want to ensure that they are comfortable and taken care of during what can be a very challenging time. We're proud and honored to provide appliances and entertainment products for these families to use."
