SoftTouch integrates bitcoin acceptance into POS

SoftTouch POS has announced the integration of bitcoin acceptance into its flagship point-of-sale payment system. According to CoinDesk, the integration was made to "capitalize on the explosion in the popularity of bitcoin."

SoftTouch's POS system is geared specifically toward the restaurant industry. SoftTouch's president Michael Paycher said the company is the first to fully integrate bitcoin acceptance into its POS solution.

"Since bitcoin hasn't penetrated the mainstream quite yet, we haven't received many requests for its integration, however our approach has never been to wait and see. We believe bitcoin popularity is inevitable," he said.

The company uses BitPay as its payment processing gateway.
