Sonic is expanding its beverage menu with the launch of Sonic Frozen Refreshers, a lineup that converts its fruit-and-tea drinks into an icy format for the summer season, according to a press release.

The offerings include frozen versions of existing Mango Peach, Strawberry Passion Fruit and Berry Citrus flavors, as well as a new seasonal Watermelon Peach variety. The drinks are made with real fruit purees and green tea, providing approximately 45 milligrams of caffeine per 20-ounce serving.

The company is promoting the launch through its "Sip to That" campaign featuring reality television personalities Ciara Miller and Ariana Madix.

"Sonic was such a big part of my childhood growing up in Georgia, and it was always a place my mom and I loved," Miller said in the release. "Partnering with the brand to launch SONIC Frozen Refreshers really feels like a dream. Every flavor is delicious, but Mango Peach has my heart — I'm a Georgia peach forever."

The partnership highlights the brand's focus on its frozen drink category, which Madix noted has been a longtime staple for her.

"I've been fully in my frozen-drink era lately, and Sonic has always been the go-to," Madix said in the release. "I used to stop by Sonic just for the drinks back in high school, so getting to partner on Sonic Frozen Refreshers feels full circle. And honestly, if you're not walking out of Sonic with a full carrier of drinks...you're doing it wrong."

The Frozen Refreshers officially debut at participating locations nationwide on May 18. They will be available for a limited time in sizes ranging from small to RT44.

From May 26 through May 31, the 20-ounce size will be available for a special introductory price of $2.99 through the Sonic App. While the frozen versions are a seasonal offering, the Refresher varieties remain permanent menu items.
