Sonic unwraps holiday menu

Sonic is kicking off the holiday season with a festive winter menu featuring a new Santa Slush Float, a Smoked Gouda and Bacon SONIC Smasher, seasonal beverages and a refreshed $7 Big Deal Meal, the company announced in a news release. The items are available through the Sonic app starting Oct. 26 and nationwide Nov. 2.

The Santa Slush Float blends cherry and vanilla flavors in an icy Slush layered with vanilla soft serve and topped with a cherry. The limited-time dessert drink comes in a Santa-themed cup while supplies last. The Smoked Gouda and Bacon Sonic Smasher is available as a double or triple and combines hand-smashed Angus beef patties with melted smoked gouda, crispy bacon and black pepper aioli.

"Whether it's enjoyed after the town parade, on the way to see the holiday lights or during a long-awaited catch-up with hometown friends, the Santa Slush Float is meant to bring a little more magic to the season," Jenna Rankin, vice president of product category management and culinary at Sonic, said in the release.

Sonic also is refreshing its $7 Big Deal Meal, which includes a Sonic Cheeseburger, a choice of medium tots or fries, small Premium Chicken Bites and a medium soft drink or iced tea.

Rounding out the lineup are two holiday-inspired beverages. The Merry Berry Fizz combines Sprite or Sprite Zero with cranberry syrup, while the Holiday Creamy Vanilla features Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola Zero with vanilla syrup and sweet cream.
