Subway names business development chief

October 30, 2017

Subway has promoted Trevor Haynes, previously vice president of operations, to the position of chief business development officer for the 44,000-location chain, a news release said. Haynes held the operations positions for three years; in his new role, he will support the brand’s global directors in building their teams and the business worldwide. Subway already has  locations in 113 countries.

"In today’s highly competitive marketplace, each team will be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience Trevor will bring to his new role," Subway President and CEO Suzanne Greco said in release. "The 11 years of global experience Trevor brings, and his deep understanding of international markets, will allow him to provide a critical perspective to the regional directors and help each identify and overcome the challenges they face."

In his former role, Haynes managed  engagement practices with franchisees and corporate employees in the field, playing a key role in franchisee profitability, better guest experiences and operational efficiencies, as well as enhanced restaurant décor and design.

Under Haynes' leadership, the chain revealed its Fresh Forward restaurant design in July. The new look features digital menu displays, self-ordering kiosks and contemporary décor. Sixty-six restaurants across the globe reflect the new design, with an additional 175 restaurants worldwide in various stages of development.

"I am fortunate to have had a wonderful career here; working with great teams in Australia and the U.K. and then with a phenomenal headquarters operations team," Haynes said in the release. "I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with the regional directors to create a path for the brand internationally that will provide the best and most comprehensive support system for the people that really make things happen — the Subway franchisees."
