Subway offering $2 subs for Customer Appreciation Month

Subway is offering 6-inch Cold Cut Combos and Meatball Marinara subs for $2 throughout the month of December.

According to the chain's website, the discount is a way of saying thanks for Customer Appreciation Month.

Prices and participation may vary throughout the system.

Tony Pace, marketing chief at Subway's franchisee advertising fund, told USA Today that the deal is a just way to show "a little love when everyone is fretting about the economic future."

To showcase the deal, Subway launched an online spot featuring spokesman Jared Fogle, and Olympic athletes Nastia Luikin and Apolo Ohno.

Additionally, Subway's featured $5 Footlong for December is the Western Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich. It includes black forest ham, cheese, red onions and green peppers and is available all day in December only.
