Subway is introducing wraps featuring double the meat of an average 6-inch sub, plus veggies, cheese and sauces, after a successful introduction in Maine, followed by testing in market nationwide, a news release said. Three offerings are available: chipotle southwest steak and cheese; turkey, bacon and guacamole and a rotisserie-style chicken Caesar.
The wraps are Subway's biggest core menu addition in the U.S. since the introduction of rotisserie-style chicken two years ago.
"This is just the beginning," Vice President of Global Brand Management and Innovation Len Van Popering, said in the release. "Subway is focused on menu innovation as part of its commitment to meeting changing consumer preferences and providing a great experience for the millions of people around the world who visit Subway every day."
In coming months, the release said the chain will add the new wraps to its catering platters and box meals, as well.
