Taco Bell is taking its "Live Más" approach to the golf course with its inaugural Live Más Open, the company has announced in a news release.
The Live Más Open is a nine-hole golf tournament bringing together celebrities, professional athletes, creators and fans Nov. 2 at The Ranch at Laguna Beach in California.
Hosted by Kevin Hart, the 36-player event will feature nine foursomes, each pairing a fan with a celebrity, pro athlete and creator. Teams will compete in unconventional challenges and have access to golf-inspired Taco Bell food through an on-course drive-thru. The winning foursome will receive a trophy, purple jackets and the chance to help select a Taco Bell menu item to return nationwide for a limited time in 2027.
"I love golf, I love Taco Bell, what could be better than bringing them together for a day of competition and fun," said actor and comedian Kevin Hart in the release. "Bring your swag, bring your swing, bring some personality and let's play."
Nine fans will earn spots through the Live Más Open Qualifier, running Sept. 10-27 at participating Topgolf locations nationwide. Players who score at least 200 points in Topgolf's Shot Shuffle game can enter a sweepstakes, with a free online entry option also available. Taco Bell will ultimately select nine golfers from 100 randomly selected candidates to travel to Laguna Beach and compete.
"Topgolf has always been about making golf more accessible and social, which is why the Live Más Open is such a natural fit for us," Topgolf CEO David McKillips said in the release. " "Together with Taco Bell, we want everyone to feel like they can be part of the game, whether they're picking up a club for the first time or have been playing for years, with a chance to earn their way into the field and experience golf in a way they may never have imagined."
Taco Bell CMO Luis Restrepo said the tournament extends the brand's history of challenging conventions.
"With the Live Más Open, we're playing a different game, bringing pros, celebrities, creators and fans together on the course in a way that hasn't been done before," Restrepo said. "Our fans have always shaped this brand, so when we create an experience like this, we want them to be a part of it, not watching from the sidelines."
The tournament will stream nationwide in November, and the winning team's selected Taco Bell menu item is expected to return to participating restaurants for a limited time in 2027.
