Taco Cabana hosting flan giveaway

Taco Cabana is giving away free flans at participating locations on Aug. 21 from 5-8 p.m.

The dessert is a chilled Mexican custard drizzled with caramel sauce. It was introduced to the menu in late July.

Diego Galicia, corporate chef at Taco Cabana, said Taco Cabana cooks prepare all of the ingredients each morning and place them into serving cups.

"Once cooled and set, it will be flipped on to a plate and drizzled with caramel sauce as standard in traditional Mexican cooking," he said.

Flan normally retails for $1.49. There is no purchase necessary for the giveaway.
