Frozen yogurt chain TCBY is celebrating its 45th anniversary this summer with throwback branding, limited-time promotions and a special birthday discount, according to a press release
Founded in 1981, the company is marking the milestone with an anniversary campaign themed "The Original Social Network," highlighting its legacy as a community gathering place. Throughout July and August, loyalty members will have access to exclusive promotions, and the brand will host a social media sweepstakes on Facebook and Instagram. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, the chain will offer a birthday buy-one-get-one-half-off deal, giving guests 45% off their second purchase of equal or lesser value.
"While a lot has changed since 1981, the joy of celebrating life's big and little moments with the ones who matter the most hasn't," Rich Screnci, executive director of parent company Famous Brands International, said in the press release. "For 45 years, TCBY has been more than a place to enjoy frozen yogurt. We've been a place where friends meet after school, families celebrate milestones, first dates happen, and lifelong memories are made. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate those moments and thank the guests, franchisees, and communities who have been part of our story."
In addition to the promotions, TCBY will commemorate the anniversary by sharing stories from longtime franchisees, employees and customers on its digital platforms. Some customers who share their memories will receive limited-edition 45th anniversary prize packages.
The company, which introduced Greek frozen yogurt in 2011 and established its "Super Froyo" nutrition classification, currently operates more than 125 franchised locations worldwide.
