Texas Popeyes handing out free sandwiches

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is offering its new Simple Chicken Sandwich for free in select Texas markets Saturday, from 11 a.m. to noon.

More than 100 restaurants throughout the state will participate, including in Houston and San Antonio.

"Our customers loved the new Simple Chicken Sandwich," said John Busby, a Texas franchisee. "Their response during our first Simple Chicken Sandwich Giveaway Day told us that we had to bring the offer back and show new customers how great the sandwich is as well."

The Simple Chicken Sandwich features lightly breaded chicken breast marinated in a Popeyes' blend of seasonings and served on a toasted and buttered bun with pickles and mayo on the side.

Popeyes recommends calling ahead to confirm participation in the promotion.
