The Buddy Cone System, an ice cream cone holder that reduces drips, has signed a deal with California-based Galardi Group.
The agreement calls for the Buddy System to be served in more than 450 Galardi Group restaurants, including Wienerschnitzel, the Original Hamburger Stands and Tastee Freez ice cream shops.
The system is designed to provide a barrier between hands and the cone, and also features a polystyrene sheath to catch drips and reduce the need for napkins.
Patented in 1998, the Buddy System won the 2001 Ameristar Award as the best food safety product. It is used at thousands of ice cream locations in 14 countries. Chains such as Dairy Queen, Carvel, Culver’s and Frozen Custard utilize the Buddy System, which is also served at various stadiums and arenas throughout the U.S. for ice cream purchases.
Robert C. Sotile, president and CEO of The Buddy Cone Systems Inc., said the product contributes to cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
“Tastee Freez is an iconic American company, and we are proud that the Buddy System will enhance the customers' ice cream eating experience there and at more than 450 Galardi Group restaurants,” Sotile said.
