Wendy’s has unveiled its newest seasonal salad — the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad. The launch comes on the heels of two permanent salad additions with the Asian Cashew Chicken Salad and the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad.
According to a news release, Wendy’s new Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad includes California strawberries, Applewood smoked bacon, crumbled blue cheese and red onion, and is topped off with honey-roasted sunflower seeds and Marzetti Simply Dressed Apple Balsamic Vinaigrette.
“While others are pulling back on their salad offerings, we’re continuing to build on our commitment to bring consumers chef-inspired tastes and high-quality ingredients in our fresh-made salads,” CMO Craig Bahner said in the release. “Our new Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad elevates our premium salad offerings with seasonal flavors, and it’s why we’re serving it only during the summer — when its ingredients are at their peak of freshness.”
Wendy’s said it plans to use more than 2 million pounds of California strawberries. Available for a limited time only, Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad has a suggested price of $6.49 for the full-size and $4.49 for the half-size.
