Western New York McDonald's owner: Kiosks will not cause lost jobs

May 14, 2018

The new self-serve kiosks at the McDonald's restaurant in West Seneca, New York, will not be killing any jobs, and in fact, will be adding jobs, the restaurant’s owner told WKBW-TV. Sandra Haefner, owner of the Union Road McDonald's, said the kiosks are part of a change the customers want.

The TV station noted that McDonald’s has said the kiosks will not eliminate jobs and that the company will have to add employees to maintain the kiosks.

All 67 McDonald's restaurants in Western New York will complete the same renovations by the end of 2019.
