WKS Restaurant Corp. deploys new web filtering solution

WKS Restaurant Corporation has deployed OpenDNS, an Internet browsing and security provider used to filter Web content.

WKS is a managing company that oversees franchises of El Pollo Loco, Corner Bakery Café and Krispy Kreme. Sixty separate franchisees in California, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico are now using OpenDNS.

"We looked at some options, but were hard-pressed to find anything that compared to OpenDNS," said Kyle Hunt, WKS Restaurant Group's director of information technology.

Deploying OpenDNS takes minutes, and there is no expensive hardware to maintain. Hunt said OpenDNS would ultimately save WKS Restaurant Corporation thousands of dollars this year.
