Technology helping Rise to raise profile

Tom Ferguson, the founder of Rise Biscuits Donuts didn't set out to build a franchise, but that's exactly what he has done. The six-unit chain based in North Carolina, which has inked a deal with Fransmart to help it expand, is using technology to streamline operations, according to Sylvia Steere, the chain's director of technology. She discusses everything from growth strategies to mac 'n' cheese biscuits with Cherryh Cansler, editor of FastCasual.
