Burger King franchisee rolls out WiFi HotSpots service

March 23, 2011

Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Corp. Holdings Inc., which operates 280 Burger King restaurants throughout the country, has partnered with MegaPath Inc., a managed data, voice and security services provider, to roll out Managed WiFi HotSpots service in key units.

The service provides public Internet access to customers.

The Burger King franchisee also utilizes MegaPath’s MPLS and Managed Security Services to access corporate applications and remain PCI compliant.

"With MegaPath’s Managed WiFi HotSpots, we are giving our customers a way to be both productive and social at the same time when they dine in one of our restaurants. Overall, MegaPath has greatly improved how we operate our business and provide value-add services to our customers," said David Knutson, director of IS, Strategic Restaurants.

In 2008, Strategic Restaurants implemented MegaPath’s PCI-compliant MPLS VPN network to improve performance and reduce costs. By moving from satellite to a fully-managed broadband and managed security service, Strategic Restaurants has more bandwidth to run applications such as inventory and sales figures.
