Canadian QSR group deploys MICROS solutions

March 28, 2013

MICROS Systems Inc., a provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, has announced the implementation of its cloud-based MICROS Simphony and MICROS myinventory by Canadian-based restaurant company Extreme Brandz. The Simphony and myinventory installation includes more than 350 quick-service restaurants throughout North America and internationally under the names Extreme Pita, Mucho Burrito, Purblendz and Via Cibo.

Extreme Pita was founded in 1997, with the opening of its first Extreme Pita Restaurant in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Extreme Brandz was founded in 2006, with the opening of Mucho Burrito. Since then, the franchises have grown rapidly, necessitating Extreme Brandz's need to standardize a point-of-sale solution that can facilitate enterprise management and reporting.

MICROS Simphony is a cloud-based, enterprise enabled point-of-sale solution. The integrated system links POS transactions and back office functions. MICROS Simphony offers a flexible configuration that can operate in a single location or thousands of locations across brands and continents.

"MICROS Simphony has allowed us to accelerate our restaurant development opening plans. With access to real-time enterprise data, we can expand rapidly due to increased revenues and cost controls that are provided by MICROS Simphony and MICROS myinventory," said Mark Cunningham, vice president Global Business Development for Extreme Brandz.
