Checkers & Rally's, the fast-food chain known for its double drive-thru and burger-and-fries focus, has opened a location in El Mirage, Arizona. The restaurant is co-owned by retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Keith Gallagher and a business partner, according to a press release.
Gallagher brings experience in military service and finance to the venture. He previously served 28 years in the Air Force and has experience in franchising, co-owning Wienerschnitzel locations in Las Vegas and having investments in Cinnabon and Auntie Anne's as well. This is their second Checkers & Rally's, and they plan to expand further.
"Bringing Checkers & Rally's to El Mirage is an exciting new venture for us," Gallagher said in the release. "We were drawn in by the bold flavors and genuine appeal of the brand. We're eager to not only serve up delicious food but also become an integral part of the vibrant El Mirage community, fostering lasting relationships and creating memorable experiences for our guests."
The restaurant features an updated design and a simplified operating model for faster service.
"Keith and his partners' commitment to bringing the Checkers & Rally's experience to El Mirage reflects the kind of visionary franchise partners we seek," Robert Bhagwandat, senior director of franchise development at Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, said in the release. "Their combined expertise in operations, technology and business expansion perfectly aligns with our brand values. We're confident that their passion and dedication will resonate with our guests, and we're thrilled to support their endeavor in introducing Checkers and Rally's to El Mirage."
Checkers and Rally's primarily operates through franchises, offering brand recognition, operational support and marketing resources to owners. Franchise opportunities require less land than competitors, making them attractive to potential owners. The brand is targeting expansion in specific U.S. markets.
Checkers and Rally's operates 800 restaurants.
