The possible breach may involve as many as 9,000 cards, more than the number involved in the Target breach.

KrebsOnSecurity is reporting that sources at several U.S. banks are seeing a pattern of credit card fraud at cards used at Chick-fil-A restaurants across the country. Chick-fil-A confirmed the reports, and said it is working with IT security firms and law enforcement.
Reports first began surfacing in November, and an alert about a breach involving nearly 9,000 customer cards was issued to financial institutions just before Christmas. The breach lasted between Dec. 2 and Sept. 30. The number of cards is greater than the number of cards involved in the Target breach last year.
The bulk of the fraud seems concentrated in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Chick-fil-A will offer free identity protection services to customers affected by the breach, and banks and Chick-fil-A will cover any fraudulent charges made on customer accounts due to the breach.
