Cintas recycling campaign benefits Ronald McDonald Charities

May 16, 2012

Cintas Corporation has announced that it has collected more than 500 pounds of pull tabs for its second annual E.A.R.T.H. (Every Area Recycling Tabs Helps!) Campaign. Proceeds from the campaign support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), which convert pull tabs into funds for local chapters. Approximately 3,350 Cintas employee-partners participated in this year's campaign, generating a total of 800,000 pull tabs.

"Ronald McDonald Houses around the world depend upon the funds raised from recycling pull tabs," said Jennifer Goodin, RMHC of Greater Cincinnati executive director. "Cintas has been an incredible corporate partner in this effort. We are truly grateful for their help in caring for families with critically ill children who are receiving medical treatment far from home."

The annual Cintas E.A.R.T.H. Campaign encourages pull tab recycling throughout the year to benefit RMHC's own long-standing collection program. This year, the recycling campaign involved 47 Cintas facilities across 26 states and in Canada. Employee-partner involvement increased 150 percent from 2011, during which the campaign generated 320,000 tabs for RMHC of Greater Cincinnati.

New machine rental program launched

Cintas also launched a new floor machine rental program for foodservice operations. A part of its Safe Floor program, the rental service includes TASKI floor machines from Diversey and is backed by a preventative maintenance program and 24/7 service support. This allows foodservice operators to improve floor cleanliness and safety for a flat weekly rate.

The Cintas floor machine rental program includes training, a preventative maintenance schedule, emergency service calls and parts and labor, including replacement brushes and squeegees.

Additionally, Cintas also recently launched a new floor traction treatment service for foodservice operations that helps prevent slips and falls. The service enhances the texture of floor surfaces, such as quarry tile, porcelain and unglazed ceramic tile prevalent in foodservice facilities to improve slip resistance.

Cintas' traction treatment service enhances floor traction by creating micro-textures in the floor surface. To perform the traction treatment service, Cintas service professionals apply a specialized cleaning chemical across the floor to loosen the soils. They then agitate the surface using a special brush. The entire treatment takes less than an hour to complete and leaves floors available for immediate use. The service should be used in conjunction with a hard floor deep cleaning service to ensure floors remain in peak condition.
