This month, Dunkin' Donuts is celebrating the fifth anniversary of the launch of its DDSMART menu, which features "better-for-you" options.
Dunkin' Donuts' DDSMART menu items meet at least one of the following criteria: 25 percent fewer calories; 25 percent less sugar, saturated fat or sodium than comparable fare; and/or contain an ingredient or nutrient that is nutritionally beneficial.
To celebrate the milestone, Dunkin' Donuts held a DDSMART Fifth Anniversary Sweepstakes via Twitter this week, offering people the chance to win $500 in Dunkin' Donuts Cards if they shared the best thing that has happened to them in the past five years, and one smart change they hope to make in the next five years.
"We launched our DDSMART menu as part of our ongoing commitment to offer a wide range of products in various sizes and flavors that fit any of our guests' lifestyles and dietary preferences so they can make choices that are right for them. Meeting the needs of our guests this way has been a key to our brand's continued growth and success," said John Costello, Dunkin' Brands president, global marketing and innovation.
Earlier this year, Dunkin' Donuts introduced the Turkey Sausage Breakfast Sandwich as the newest addition to the DDSMART menu.
Other DDSmart options include the Egg White Flatbread Sandwiches; Egg & Cheese on an English Muffin and Ham, Egg & Cheese on an English Muffin; Wake-Up Wrap Sandwiches; Oatmeal with Dried Fruit Topping; Small Hot or Iced Coffee; Small Latte Lite; Freshly-brewed Unsweetened Hot Teas and Freshly brewed Unsweetened Iced Teas.
